We have two lasers that operate in three different wavelengths: Nd:YAG & Er:YAG (Fotona Lightwalker) and the diode laser (Picasso Laser). Each laser offers different benefits and target different areas of the mouth.
Biowell Compact Disinfection Unit (Water)
Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent that is chemical free. Our onsite compact disinfection unit creates ozone which is dissolved in water. This water is proven to eradicate existing micro-organisms and biofilms leaving no residual. It is also great for the environment, being chemical free.
We use ozone-generated water in all our water utilising equipment including our dental chair. By by doing this we are reducing the use of chemicals, at the same time knowing that all our waterlines are sterile.
Ozicure (air)
Just like in water form, ozone created by this machine is great at removing bacteria found in tooth decay, gum disease and dental infections. This ozone air can be safely applied to the tooth surface that contain decay, killing the bacteria inside and in turn reducing the need for further tooth removal and possibly the need for more complicated treatments in the future. Ozone has also shown to help greatly in reducing tooth sensitivity.
Our recently installed EMS Airflow Prophylaxis Master means that you can now experience stain-free, clean teeth comfortably. Airflow is a revolutionary, non-contact form of dental maintenance and prevention. It projects a controlled stream of air, water and a very fine powder onto the tooth and in hard-to-reach areas to dislodge and remove food particles, plaque, discolouration and stains. The high-pressure water/air stream cleans your teeth more effectively and more comfortably than the traditional methods.
When using the Airflow Prophylaxis Master device, your dentist will first place a coloured dye onto your teeth to reveal any plaque or biofilm present in your mouth. This is a great motivational tool to show you the areas in your mouth that you need to spend a little more time cleaning at home. Your dentist will then efficiently remove the plaque build-up with the Airflow. This is a big step in preventing and treating gingivitis (gum disease) and periodontitis. If you have hard calculus (tartar), your dentist may also need to use an ultrasonic scaler on your teeth. However, the use of the Airflow prior minimises the amount of time the Ultrasonic is needed.
